BluSky Armor®

Proud Distributor of BluSky Armor®

OmnAvia is proud to be an official distributor of BluSky Armor®, a revolutionary UV-cured finish for the aerospace and wood finishing markets. BluSky Armor(R) is the future of wood and solid decorative finishing with its super-fast curing times and elimination of hazardous chemicals in the finish shop.

BluSky Armor® chemistry is unique in its formulation, and when cured with UV lighting that we offer as a companion to the finishes, it forms an incredibly strong matrix of cross-linked polymers. This chemistry has the ability to expand and contract, adapting to extreme changes in air pressure, temperature, and humidity. This prevents cracking, crazing, and yellowing over time, allowing the finish to retain its like-new appearance for many years of service.

BluSky Armor® is Compatible with Various Surface Materials

BluSky Armor® UV-cured clear coat can be utilized as a protective finish for multiple aircraft interior cabinetry and surfaces including:

  • Wood Veneers
  • Vinyl Wraps
  • Hydrographic Printed Parts and Surfaces
  • Painted Panels

BluSky Armor® advanced surface coating can also be used to protect painted exterior finishes and critical applications, such as waterproofing radomes, from harsh weather conditions, safeguarding your customer’s investment and preserving their aircraft or critical equipment.

BluSky Armor® is Simple & Easy to Apply

BluSky Armor® is easy to prepare and apply. It is a single-stage product, requiring no mixing of catalysts, reducers, FR additives, or accelerants. It is composed of 100% solids, meaning there is no loss of material from off-gassing of the solvent carriers as with traditional clear coatings. This means there is no “orange peel” to sand off between coats. Furthermore, there are no hazardous airborne products (HAPs) and no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to contaminate the spray booth or outside air. It provides a safer shop environment by eliminating harmful gases in the spray booth.

The clear coat technology of BluSky Armor® provides streamlined project completion times and reduced materials costs. Where most solvent based lacquers and coatings require hours or a day of curing time before additional coats can be applied, this UV-cured clear coating fully cures “tack-free” in just two minutes. You’re now the “hero in the story” because your customers’ aircraft can be returned to service faster for them to enjoy or employ, and you reap the benefit of a shorter turnaround time.
